What is ADHD?
ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) is a medical condition, often noticeable before kids turn four years of age. It is typically diagnosed later on by a developmental pediatrician or after a psychoeducational assessment completed by a trained psychologist.
ADHD affects the person’s brain development and activity. The effects of this condition might be noticeable at work, home and school. A person’s ability to focus, sit still, self-regulate behaviour and plan might be impacted.

Three types of ADHD

What ADHD is NOT
ADHD IS NOT a behavioural disability. Students with ADHD often want to be present and pay full attention, but they can’t. Lack of sleep and mental fatigue might often mimic the symptoms of ADHD, although they definitely cannot cause it.
ADHD IS NOT bad attitude or bad parenting.
ADHD IS NOT a lower IQ. In fact, since people with ADHD tend to overly concentrate on things that truly interest them, they frequently exhibit a well of knowledge in certain subjects.

Direct Instruction method
Direct Instruction (DI) is a defined, free of misinterpretation, teacher-led method based on clear key principles. It is believed that every child can learn and improve academically at their own pace when presented with best teaching and materials. In other words, DI proves that students, if properly taught, can learn. Supported by decades of research, this method of teaching reading, writing, spelling and math has demonstrated to deliver results superior to other methods of instruction.
Our Direct Instruction programs are typically implemented 1-on-1. Your child’s tutor ensures mastery of the concept and only moves forward if full grasp of material is achieved. Our students make best progress if this kind of intervention is used.
