Looking for DI learning in New Zealand?
After you’ve completed an online form, our academic director will get in touch with you to schedule an assessment. We establish whether the child needs most help in decoding, comprehension, oral expression, writing or math. Following that, a learning plan is drafted and the family is set to meet their tutor. The learning sessions start to take place after that.
Here is what we will do
Our service starts with assessing the student’s skills at a time convenient for the family, and drafting a student’s learning plan. Our academic director and the parents are involved into this step.
After that, a student starts working with one of the tutors on our team.
Progress is ensured by consistent administration of the mastery tests provided by Direct Instruction programs. We provide regular progress reports for the families to measure student success.

What kind of technology is involved?
Your child will need either a desktop, a laptop or a tablet to participate in classes. We may use Google meetings, zoom or Skype to connect with families. Besides, the families will need a working printer to print out the materials prior to classes. We typically send you materials a few days before to print them out and get prepared for the classes. You definitely need a good and stable internet connection to participate in classes.
Online tutoring works exactly like in-person sessions. The tutor will explain the lesson using the whiteboard, and together with a student they will proceed to complete the worksheets. After the class, the student will be assigned homework that will be shared with a tutor once completed. Hundreds of students are RWT have already benefitted from this mode of instruction. Their experience is our proof that online instruction works just great.

Which students qualify for online instruction?
If you are a parent considering online instruction, then your child most probably qualifies. The golden rule of thumb of acceptance into our online Direct Instruction interventional program is an ability to maintain attention for some periods of time. We’ve had great success teaching students decoding, comprehension, oral communication, expressive and essay writing, and math online.
